It’s agreed that Barcelona didn’t met the player’s demand and proposed for a salary pay cut while he opted to leave than to play for lessar fee.

The 24 years old player who was signed for a world class fee of £135million is seen as a bright player for the future, as it is seen in his style of play.

He has won an individual award with Dortmund despite the senior players against him in the league.

Despite the successes at the club (Barcelona), his game time has been limited due to injury as he hardly end a calendar year without being injured. But he always get his place safe in the starting IX.

Daily Mail reports that the arrival of new coach Xavi Hernandez has brought about positivity to the player and the club, as the coach has been an admirer of the player and want him to be part of the rebuilding project. He even showed his concern with the contract talks stating that: ‘We are going to be positive for him to renew, for me it is fundamental.’

The financial difficulties at the club will not let them hold the player with a high salary, as they’re hit hard with economic breakdown caused by the Covid- 19 pandemic. This made some senior team players like Gerarrd Pique, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquet reduced their salary.

If the talks is put to halt at this point without reaching agreement, then the player is allowed to begin talks with foreign clubs. Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham have all showed their interest in the service of the player.

Famous football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Dembele’s departure in tweet on Thursday, 20th January, 2022.

He quoted Barcelona director Alemany announcing:

“It’s clear that Dembélé does NOT want to continue with Barcelona. He doesn’t want to be part of our project”.

“We told Dembélé he has to leave immediately. We expect Ousmane to be sold before Jan 31”
