Tears as NSCDC Loses Seven Officers in Niger

Niger State: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, stated that seven of its officers were missed in the line of duty in Niger State within this year.

Haruna Bala Zurmi, the Niger State commandant of the corps, made this available while briefing newsmen on the command’s stewardship in 2021.

As gathered by Daily trust, he said the command accepted 1, 578 cases bothering on criminal breach of trust, burglary, theft, assault, land disputes, and debt, among others.

He further revealed that the command also recouped over an N56.98million within the period under review, saying that the funds were returned to the rightful owners, 147 civil cases were related to the peace and conflict management unit for alternative disputes resolution. 1,428 out of the 1,578 were resolved; 15 cases were prosecuted with eight convictions.

Jigawa State Police Arrest 2 for Stealing a Cow

Earlier, the Jigawa State Police arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing a cow in the Garki Local Government Area of the state.

ASP Lawan Shiisu, The Police Public Relations Officer of Jigawa, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday, Daily Trust gathered.

The public relations officer stated that the suspects were busted after one person called Nasiru Magaji reported that unknown thieves overstepped to his residence and stole his cow around 2:30 a.m on December 14.

He said that upon receipt of the report, police officers took off into action where they later returned the stolen cow at Wudil market in Kano State.
