Brentford head coach Thomas Frank requested for a postponement of this week premier league games due to a high rise of Covid- 19 cases.
Earlier this week, Manchester United vs Brentford, Tottenham vs Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley vs Watford have all been called off, while some (matches) a few hours before the start of the game.
With the high rise of the virus in England, the English coach said that games should be postponed to avoid the spread of the virus.
As reported by Marca, Thomas Frank said “We think we should postpone the full round of Premier League games this weekend.”
“COVID-19 cases are going through the roof at all Premier League clubs. Everyone is having problems.
“To postpone this round and also the Carabao Cup round would give everyone a week at least, or four or five days, to clean and do everything at the training ground so everything is clean and you break the chain.”
However, it’s also believed that Frank will have the backing of other premier league coaches especially teams like Tottenham who have been hit hard with the virus.
For the benefit of die-hard supporters, some organisations believed that if the games are not postponed, then solutions should be made for them.
While if the games are to be played, then it’s only vaccinated staff and fans will be allowed to enter the stadium with vaccine passports necessary.
