Vinicius’ similarities with Messi and Ronaldo

Vinicius, Laliga Player: For the last decade, football has witnessed two superstars, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Having played in the same league for some years and played the biggest football game (El clásico) for the two rival clubs (Barcelona and Madrid), the pair have shared 12 ballon d’Or between them, winning it more than any other player in the history of the game.

But this time, it is Vinicuis Jr who is plying his trade in Spain, not Messi or Ronaldo.

Ronaldo Intending To Quit Juventus This Summer

What Messi Told Me After the Final -Di Maria

He scored 12 goals and assisted 8 in this season for Real Madrid, with the latest assists (2) coming up against city rivals Athletico Madrid yesterday.

Compared to his last 3 seasons at the club, the player is in the best moments of his career.

Vinicius has received a lot of criticisms from Madrid fans for his lack of goals and setting up an assist, sometimes by his teammate.

Last year, when Madrid was playing a game in Germany, Benzema was caught by cameras telling his teammate Ferland Mendy that he should not pass the ball again to him (Vinicius).

“Don’t pass the ball again to him, I swear he is playing against us” Benzema was heard saying.

But this time around, patience has paid for and Vinicius has now answered and silenced the critics with his style of play, movements on the pitch and the ability to score and set up an assist to his teammates, forming one of the dangerous attacks alongside Benzema in Europe.

The pair have scored more than half of Madrid’s goal this season, making them the club with the most goals scored in the domestic league and the favourite to win it.

Below are some similarities that Vinicius share with Messi and Ronaldo on the:

Vinicius with Messi

Every player who plays against Messi wishes to end his game safely without being embarrassed as he’s dangerous with the ball.

Similarly, Vinicius is now something to be fear of with him being very dangerous when moving the ball and finding it easy to dribble and past forward.

He has previously shown this quality in his games against Real Sociedad and Granada, destroying defenders and causing red cards for his opponents.

He’s now the defender’s nightmare in Spain after Messi’s departure this summer.

Vinicius with Ronaldo

We can’t say that Ronaldo is the best dribbler if Messi is alive, but in terms of shooting power and running faster on the pitch, we can pick Ronaldo as the number one.

Ronaldo is someone who runs the entire pitch in just 12 seconds as it was analysed after their victory against Arsenal.

Vinicius also adapt the habit of running the pitch faster especially when he has the ball. He also shoots from long distances to score goals as he recently did against Sevilla, with the goal being the decider of the game.

If Vinicius can keep playing like this or improve a little, there’s no doubt he can be one of the best, have the chance to win the Ballon d’Or and other awards and can also get compared to his compatriot Pele.
